Stringent action against government schools that levy additional fee: Minister Sengottaiyan
He said that that online portal will be opened from Saturday for teachers who want to transfer through counselling.

TN School Education Minister Sengottaiyan said in a press meet in Gobichettipalayam that, stringent action will be taken against government schools that levy additional fee from the students.
He said, “As many as 5,40,000 students have already been given free laptops in Tamil Nadu. Today, distribution of laptops to 11th class students is happening all over Tamil Nadu. Government has issued a notice to provide laptops to students who have missed getting it in the years 2017-18. After 12 years, the school syllabus has been revised. The syllabus revision took only two years to complete. Drinking water projects worth Rs 52.50 crore are underway in Gobichettipalayam. Social services organizations and private companies have come forward to undertake the construction works of government schools in Tamil Nadu at a cost of Rs 102 crore. Tamil Nadu is the first state in India to provide laptops for students. Atal Tinkering Laboratories will be launched by 15th July in 850 schools in Tamil Nadu on behalf of the Central Government.”
“About 99% students go to schools in Tamil Nadu. Only 1% of the students are drop-outs. Steps are being taken to include them in schools. Uniforms will be provided to students of 1-8th class within this month. For the private schools with poor infrastructure action will be taken to cancel the school's accreditation,” said Minister Sengottaiyan.
