Chief Minister inaugurates 43 substations across State
In a major boost to power supply, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami has inaugurated 43 substations set up at a cost of Rs 219 crore across the State.

An official release said that the State government sets up new substations and upgrades the existing ones in order to provide quality and uninterrupted power supply at appropriate voltage levels. The new substations would also help reduce transmission loss and maintenance, besides meeting peak power demand.
Palaniswami through video conferencing inaugurated 43 substations including 10 substations of 110KV capacity and 33 stations of 33KVA capacity in 18 districts including Madurai, Erode, Tiruvallur and Thanjavur.
As part of the effort to provide quality and uninterrupted power supply, it said two substations of 110/33 KVA capacity was set up at Narasingapatti in Madurai and Elliyampadu in Tiruvallur at a cost of Rs 25.65 crore, while five substations of 110/22 KVA capacity was set up at a cost of Rs 12.82 crore in Thanjavur, Tirunelveli, Karur and Cuddalore.
Thirty three substations of 33/11 KVA capacity was inaugurated at a cost of Rs 156.68 crore in 12 districts. Of the 12 districts, Vellore has got seven substations, while Krishnagiri district has five.
