OPS likely to discuss RS candidates with Amit Shah
AIADMK convenor and deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam is likely to discuss the list of candidates with BJP president Amit Shah for the Rajya Sabha polls as the AIADMK top brass is keen on maintaining a good rapport with the BJP in Parliament.

OPS may also try for an audience with the finance minister to seek additional allocation for the state in the Union Budget. The AIADMK leader will also brief the Centre on the funds required to carry out the drought mitigation works and press for cyclone Gaja relief amount due under the disaster management allocation.
Panneerselvam is also scheduled to attend and address analyse the first GST council meeting of the NDA 2 regime, party sources said.
Tamil Nadu is also confident of getting funds for the AIIMS announced in Madurai, Chennai metro rail extension, proposed desalination plant and the funds awaited under smart city projects.
Rs 10,000 crore due
The Centre also has an arrear of more than Rs 10,000 crores due for the state under GST rebates and sanctions to the local bodies under urban renewal mission, secretariat official sources said.
Also, the Advance Ruling Authority (ARA) of Tamil Nadu had passed divergent orders on the applicability of GST on catering services in an industrial and office unit.
There are contradictory orders passed by ARAs in different states on levy of GST on payments made, availability of input tax credit (ITC). Issues related to ARAs orders are also to be clarified during the meeting, sources added.
The state ministers are also expected to give their suggestions for union budget 2019-20 to the Centre and schemes related to their states. The central budget will be presented on July 5 in parliament.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami who has been unwell for past two days, has undergone a few scans and a complete master health check-up at a private hospital here.
The doctors, who analysed the scan reports, have termed the CM as fit and he would be inaugurating a blood donation camp at Rajarathinam stadium organised by state police, sources said.
The state officials had also made arrangements at secretariat to inaugurate a few buildings and schemes through video conferencing. While the formal engagements related to CM were cancelled on Wednesday and Thursday, all the works have been re-scheduled for Friday and Saturday, official sources said.
The officials had also made arrangements for a review meeting to be chaired by CM to discuss about the water management works taken up as part of drought mitigation works.
