Madurai
Traders, led by LM Davidson, district president of the Peravai, submitted a petition to the Kanniyakumari Superintendent of Police N Sreenath on Monday, seeking action against thewriter.
After submitting the petition, Davidson alleged that police acted in a partial manner in the case related to a scuffle between tea shop owner Selvan and the writer. Nesamony said police had not even filed a case against Jeyamohan despite a complaint lodged by Selvan’s wife Geetha.
“Law enforcers act in favour of those occupying high positions in society and those who have money and manpower,” he charged.
In the petition, he said that S Geetha, wife of Selvan, was at a tea stall attached to the store, when Jeyamohan approached the store and picked up a quarrel over dosa batter. He alleged that Jeyamohan abused her before throwing the batter packets on her. Subsequently, Selvan, who came to her rescue, was also assaulted by Jeyamohan, he said.
Citing these, he said Jeyamohan should be arrested to deliver justice for Selvan and his wife.
