    Panchavatee temple consecration on June 23

    More than five lakh people are expected to participate in the mahakumbhabishekam (consecration) of the Panchavatee 36-ft lord Anjaneya temple in Villuppuram district on June 23.

    Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, M Kothandaraman, president,


    Panchamukha Sri Jayamaruthi Seva and Charitable Trust, said preparations were going on in full swing for the mahakumbhabishekam to be held between 9 am and 10.30 am at the temple.


    The seven-day event beginning on June 17 will see several rituals, including homams, poojas, music and dance programmes and spiritualdrama.


    The highlight of the mahakumbhabishekam would include a mega Yagasala spread over 20,000 sqft with 38 homa kundams, free transportation for all devotees on the day of mahakumbabishekam from Tindivanam, Puducherry to the temple.


    The Raja Gopuram (main temple tower) and four vimanams will be consecratedon that day.


    The first Kumbhabishekam was held 12 years back in 2007.
