Chief Minister reviews water crisis, monsoon preparedness in Salem dist
Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami reviewed the measures to tackle water shortage and preparedness for the south west monsoon and the ongoing development works in Salem district on Sunday.

On a three-day visit to Salem to participate in numerous government functions to inaugurate new projects in the district, the Chief Minister on Sunday held a discussion meeting with officials of various departments at the tourist’s bungalow.
Salem Collector Rohini Bhajibhakare, Corporation Commissioner Sathish, District Revenue Officer Diwakar, City Police Commissioner Shankar, Superintendent of Police Deepa Ganiger andofficials of the health department took part in the meet.
Officials said that the Chief Minister mainly discussed on tackling drinkingwater shortage and got to know the preparatory measures taken up ahead ofSouth West Monsoon.
Then, the Chief Minister also had a meeting with AIADMK functionaries, MLAs’ and former MPs from Salem district. On hearing their reasons for the recent poll debacle, Chief Minister Palaniswami insisted everyone to work hard unitedly by burying their differences to bring about a huge victory for the party in the upcoming local body polls.
After participating in the meeting, MLA Semmalai said that Rajan Chellappa is trying to create unwanted confusion in the party by raising the issue of dual leadership.
“The party leadership will decide if AIADMK requires single leader or dual leaders. There is no rift in the party and everyone will abide by any decision of the high command,” he added.
