Union Minister and sitting BJP MP Pon Radhakrishnan is trailing against Congress candidate H.Vasanthakumar in Tamil Nadu's Kanyakumari Lok Sabha constituency, according to Election Commission of India.

As per the latest update, Radhakrishnan has received 86,048 votes against 1,87,729 votes polled for sitting MLA Vasanthakumar till now.
After stringent electioneering by both candidate, the constituency witnessed 62.32 per cent turnout. Stakes are high for both candidates as they fight to assert their influential position. Both candidates have given several promises to fishing communities to woo their votes. Â
The Congress fielded MLA H Vasantha Kumar to counter BJP's stalwart Pon Radhakrishnan, who won the seat in 2014 Lok Sabha elction in BJP' ticket.Â
