Thirunavukkarasar wins by a huge margin in Tiruchirappalli

Senior congress leader and former state party chief Thirunavukkarasar reigned supreme as he dominated the poll race by a whopping margin of 4,50,000 votes. 

Since the counting of votes on Thursday morning, former TNCC chief Su Thirunavukkarasar took a comfortable lead with Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) candidate Elangovan trailing behind.

DMDK's Elangovan was given ticket in AIADMK-led alliance while the Congress senior leader was opted for Tiruchirappalli Parliamentary constituency.

Trichy recorded a voting turnout of 71.89% in Lok Sabha Elections 2019.
