First trend of T’malai, Arani and bypoll seats to be out by 11 am
The leads of individual candidates from Vellore and Tiruvannamalai districts will be known by 11 am. The results may come out only by 5 pm due to counting of postal ballots and vote cross checking by VVPAT machines.

The administrations of both the districts have left no stone unturned to ensure smooth counting of votes on Thursday.
While votes will be counted at private engineering college in Ranipet for the Arakonam Parliamentary and Sholingur Assembly constituencies, in Vellore the government polytechnic is the venue for the counting of votes for the Gudiyattam and Ambur Assembly bypolls.
Similarly, in Tiruvannamalai, the marketing committee premises on the Tindivanam Road is the counting centre for votes of the Tiruvannamalai Lok Sabha segment, theArni LS votes will be counted at the government vocational higher secondary school on the Chengam Road.
Tiruvannamalai LS votes will be counted in 24 rounds, while Arni LS segment votes will be counted in 23 rounds.
However, it is different in Vellore district where votes of Ambur, Gudiayttam andSholingur bypolls will be counted in 18, 21 and 22 roundsrespectively.
For the Arakonam LS segment, votes will be counted in 24 (Tirutani), 18 (Arakonam), 22 (Sholingur), 18 (Katpadi), 21 (Ranipet) and 21 (Arcot) rounds respectively.
Meanwhile in Puducherry the counting of the votes polled in the April 18 Lok Sabha election for Puducherry seat and Assembly bypoll for the Thattanchavady seat will commence at 8 am with the postalballots counting.
All arrangements have been completed for the counting and the security in and around the centers were tightened.
The votes polled for Lok Sabha seat will be counted at the Government Women’s Polytechnic and the Motilal Nehru Polytechnic at Lawspet here, while the votes polled in Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam regions of the Union Territory would be counted in the respective regions and the result will be passed on to the headquarters.
The votes polled in the Thattanchavady Assembly by-election will be counted in a separate room at the women’s polytechnic.
