Spurious liquor seized, 3 arrested

The seizure followed Vellore Prohibition Wing police getting a tip that spurious liquor was being transported to localities near Natrampalli, after which they undertook vehicle checks near the town.

They stopped a mini lorry coming towards Natrampalli and a check revealed 280 litres of spurious liquor packed in plastic cans. On questioning the driver, they were informed the liquor was meant for local supply and that it was provided by Mahendran (30), Govindaraj (40) and Saravanan (36), all from the same locality.

Police then seized the mini-van and the liquor. Meanwhile, the three men were arrested from the area and remanded to custody. A case has been registered.
