Duo held under Pocso Act for abusing minor girl
The Peravallur all-women police arrested two men under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for sexually assaulting a minor on Wednesday.

The 16-year-old girl from Thiru Vi Ka Nagar had been missing since April 14 and based on a complaint by their parents, the Peravallur police registered a case and launched a hunt for her. On information that she was in Arakkonam, a team of police personnel rushed there and rescued her.
Interrogation revealed that Perumal (20) of T Nagar married her in a temple and took her to Arakkonam. Perumal’s friend Aravind (25) of Vinayakapuram, too, joined him and sexually assaulted the minor girl.
Based on her statements, the police registered a case under Pocso Act and remanded the duo in judicial custody.
