    Following the scorching heat that has been ravaging Tamil Nadu, the “Agni Natchathiram” had set in on the 4th of this month. 

    The state, in order to reduce the impact of the heat, has ordered temples to conduct religious rituals praying for the emergence of rainclouds.

    Rituals were conducted at Arunachaleswarar temple in Tiruvannamalai this morning, praying for a decrease in heat waves in the state.

    The conductors of these rituals submerged chest deep in the pond at the temple, chanting religious scripts. A large number of people had taken part in this ritual, hoping for rain.
