Cop who failed to register case for 60 days suspended
A traffic sub-inspector attached to Anna Nagar police station has been suspended for not registering a case even after 60 days. A visually challenged person was injured in the accident involving an unidentified vehicle.

The victim, Antony of T P Chathiram, earns money by singing devotional songs on the road along with his wife Mary, said police. On February 24, he had gone alone to a church in Kilpauk as his wife fell ill, when an unidentified vehicle hit him. when he was standing on the roadside. Antony suffered a fracture on his right hand and was admitted at Kilpauk Medical College.
Anna Nagar traffic investigation wing which is supposed to probe the incident has not registered a case even after 60 days of the incident.
Antony who could not claim compensation for the accident, visited the police station several times, but in vain. On Tuesday, he submitted a petitionat city police Commissioner office.
A probe was ordered and as the traffic sub-inspector Mohan, who is the investigation officer of the accident, did not have valid answers for the delay in registering the case, he was suspended on Wednesday.
Following the orders of the Commissioner, a case has also been registered for furtherinvestigation.
