Near centum pass for TN students
The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) on Tuesday, declared the Class 10 ICSE and Class 12 ISC results with the state students securing overall percentage of 99.79 and 99.57, respectively.

Tamil Nadu performance is better than the total pass percentage across the country. For ICSE students across the country it was 98.54 per cent and ISC overall pass percentage stood at 96.52 per cent.
Girls in the state, who appeared for the ISCE exams, havedone better than boys by securing a pass percentage of 99.94 per cent. Boys overall pass percentage stood at 99.67 per cent.
Likewise, the girls, who appeared for ISC, also performed well than boys by securing an overall pass percentage of 100. Boys overall pass percentage was 99.21.
The ICSE examination has been conducted in 60 written subjects of which 22 are Indian languages and ten are foreign languages and two Classical languages. Similarly, the ISC examination has been conducted in 49 written subjects of which 14 are Indian languages and six are foreign languages and one Classical language.
In Tamil Nadu, a total of 3,831 students appeared for ICSE exams and as many as 1,646 candidates appeared for ISC exam in the state.
According to the special category statistics, a total of 200 scheduled caste candidates took the ICSE examination achieving a pass percentage of 100.
In addition, 12 scheduled tribe candidates who took the examination achieved a pass percentage of 100 too.
Likewise, 58 scheduled caste candidates took the ISC examination achieving a pass percentage of 100 and all the five scheduled tribe candidates took the examination passed out in flying colours.
