    CBSE Class 10 results: Chennai region records 99 per cent pass percentage

    With a pass percentage of 99%, the Chennai region was the second best for the third consecutive year in the Class 10 Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) results, which were announced on Monday.

    While the Trivandrum region performed the best again with a pass percentage of 99.85, Ajmer was third with 95.89. The overall pass percentage pan India is 91.10%, an improvement of 4.40% over last year.


    Siddhant Pengoriya from Lotus Value International School at Noida, Divyansh Wadhwa from Bal Bharti Public School in UP, and Yogesh Kumar Gupta from St Patricks School in UP, are among the 13 students, who bagged the first rank with 499 out of 500 marks.


    Only one candidate from Tamil Nadu — B Kaviya Varshini of Vidhya Niketan Public School in Coimbatore — who scored 497, has made it to the national toppers list. She is one among 59 students who got 497 marks to share the third rank. The second rank was bagged by 25 students who scored 498 out of 500 marks.


    The Chennai region, which includes students from Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, AP, Telangana, Maharashtra, Goa, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Daman and Diu, had a pass percentage of 97.37% in the Class 10 examinationslast year.
