Ruling party not holding local body elections to amass money, alleges Stalin
DMK leader MK Stalin on Sunday hit out at the AIADMK, saying that the local body polls weren’t conducted by the party to amass money through projects.

“The AIADMK government has not conducted the local body polls to amass money,” he said, while campaigning for Sulur bypoll candidate Pongalur N Palanisamy.
Stating that the Lok Sabha polls on April 18 will send Prime Minister Narendra Modi packing home, Stalin said the bypolls on May 19 will send Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami home.
“This minority government continues to be in power due to the support of Modi. Once Rahul Gandhi becomes the Prime Minister the AIADMK government would fall on its own,” he said.
Exuding confidence that the DMK will win the bypolls for the already held 18 Assembly segments and in the to be held four Assembly seats, Stalin said then the DMK will get a majority of 119 legislators to form the government.
“Hence the AIADMK government has hatched a conspiracy and proposed for disqualification of its three MLA’s. The DMK has moved a no-confidence motion against the Speaker to foil their conspiracy,” he said.
Stalin also lashed out at the BJP government by listing out its failures. “Modi promised two crore jobs, but GST led to job loss. He came to power by promising to deposit Rs 15 lakh in each account by recovering black money stashed abroad, but did not put even Rs 15 paise. The Prime Minister also failed to address the issue of farmers, even when they protested in Delhi,”he said.
On the Pollachi sex scandal issue, Stalin questioned what the police and intelligence department were doing when more than 200 women were exploited for over seven years.
“The involvement of Pollachi Jayaraman and his sons have been exposed with evidence. ‘Bar’ Nagaraj has links with Minister SP Velumani. The DMK will take action on coming to power,” he said.
On coming to power, Stalin said the first raid will be conducted in the house of Velumani. “Those with him had already given us the list where the money has been kept,” he added.
Earlier in the day, Stalin campaigned in a vegetable market and held ‘thinnai pracharam’ in Sulur.
