Youth shot dead, 15-yr-old escapes molestation bid by 4 in Dharmapuri

According to police, B Munusamy, a mechanic from Nallampalli, was talking with his relative, a 15-year-old girl, in the forest area at Pannapatty near Hogenakkal, when four men came there. 

“One of them shot at Munusamy with a country made gun on his chest resulting in his death on the spot. When the girl tried to run away, the men threatened to shoot her too, if she tries to escape and grabbed her hand with the intention of committing a sexual assault,” police said. 

However, the girl managed to flee away and reach the main road and shouted for help. The tourists immediately followed her into the forest. The four men, on seeing the public escaped into the forest, police said.  

Police said, Munusamy, who had come to his home town, as it was a holiday on May Day had taken the girl to Hogenakkal falls in his two-wheeler. While returning home after a bath, the duo had spent some time at a secluded spot off the road, when the incident happened around evening. 

The body of the deceased has been sent for post mortem to Dharmapuri GH A case has been registered and special teams of police are on the lookout for the accused.
