AIADMK leaving no stone unturned to win bypoll battle II

While the DMK and AMMK had echoed that the AIADMK is worried over the results of bypolls and is now focussed on disqualifying the incumbent MLAs, the AIADMK has reached out to its party cadre and functionaries.

According to AIADMK party headquarters sources, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and party convenor and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam are now conducting back to back meetings with party workers engaged in bypoll works in the four constituencies. Party leader Panneerselvam is directly monitoring the booth level party works for Tiruparankundram and Ottapidaram Assembly constituencies. Similarly, CM Palaniswami is focussed on Sulur constituency. Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker M Thambidurai and Transport Minister Vijayabhaskar are working in Aravakurichi seat against the DMK heavy weight Senthil Balaji.

Chief Minister Palaniswami had also reached out to his confidential party functionaries to identify the party workers working effectively and improve the grey areas.

Ruling AIADMK on Monday also urged the party cadres to focus on the four Assembly bypolls so that the AIADMK can continue the rule of Jayalalithaa. Party organ Namadhu Amma had also urged the functionaries to reach out to every voter and campaign about the need for a strong government in the Centre and in the state.

The AIADMK had also dispatched its entire state cabinet comprising 30 Ministers to carry out the election works in four assembly constituencies for which the nominations ended on Monday. Among Ministers P Thangamani, SP Velumani, RB Udayakumar, Sellur K Raju are given additional duty to intensify the AIADMK’s campaign.
