Judges "counsel" the Puzhal jail inmates
40 judges and magistrates of Chennai, Kancheepuram, Thiruvallur led by Justice Prakash of Madras High Court, counselled the Puzhal prisoners on April 13.

Puzhal jail which houses around 3,000 prisoners including convicted prisoners, trial detainees, women prisoners and first time offenders.
Sources said, for the first time in prison history, Judicial officers conducted 'counselling session' for the prison inmates.
A group of 40 judges and magistrates led by Justice Prakash visited Puzhal on Saturday, April 13. The session was held in the indoor auditorium within the premises, for the first time offenders.
The 3-hour session attended by 150 first time prisoners was organised with an objective of rehabilitating them and helping them lead a normal life post remand period.
The judges and magistrates spent about 5 to 10 minutes counselling each prisoner individually, who was escorted by a policeman and prison staff.
