Rs 132.91 cr cash, 998 kg gold, 642 kg silver seized by EC in TN
A total of 132.91 crore unaccounted money has been seized so far by the Election Commission flying squad officials in Tamil Nadu, which goes to polls on April 18.

Talking to reporters about the arrangements made for the polling, Chief Electoral Officer Satyabrata Sahoo said the flying squad and Static Surveillance Teams (SST) and police seized Rs 1.63 crore cash yesterday, taking the total cash seizures to 132.91 crore.
He said, apart from the cash, Rs 286 crore worth of gold and silver jewelleries and items were seized.
''This included 998 kg gold and 642 kg silver items'', he added.
Mr Sahoo said apart from cash and jewelleries, liquor and other drugs to the tune of Rs 37.68 lakhand laptops, cooker, sarees and clothes worth Rs 8.15 crore were also seized.
The total seizures were valued at Rs 427.69 crore, the CEO said.
He said of the Rs 132.91 core seized, Rs 65.01 were returned to their respective owners.
Of this, the amount seized by Income Tax department was Rs 42.37 crores.
A total of 2,387 complaints were received in C-vigil App and action has been taken against 1,076 complaints.
A total of 4,466 cases pertaining to violation of the model code of conduct jave been registered so far.
He also said there were a total of 924 NRI voters.
