BHEL despatches record 820 tonnes of boiler components for power projects
In its first consignment despatch in this financial year, the State-run Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Tiruchy, sent 820 tonnes comprising of boiler components, valves and other equipment for 12 major power projects that are coming up across India and overseas. This was flagged off by R Padmanabhan, General Manager-in-Charge, BHEL Tiruchy.

The components for North Karanpura (3 X 660 MW), Thoothukudi (1 X 252 MW), North Chennai (1 X 660 MW), Uppur (2 X 800 MW), Yadadri (5 x 800 MW), Badradri (4 X 270 MW), Panki (1 x 660 MW), Udangudi (2 X 660 MW), Bhusawal (1 X 660 MW), Vijayawada (1 X 800 MW), and BHEL’s largest overseas project Maitree (2 X 660 MW) were dispatched in 36 trailer trucks on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Padmanabhan said BHEL Tiruchy has been successfully creating value for its customers by adapting to their changing needs through innovation and quick adoption of latest technological developments.
Underlining the importance of giving thrust to speedy manufacture and timely delivery, he said that BHEL Tiruchy, with its highly skilled human capital including young as well as experienced employees, would capitalise on the emerging business opportunities to retain market leadership.
V Srinivasan, General Manager, Commercial, Marketing, Proposals (Fossil Boilers) and Logistics, handed over the dispatch documents to M Thiruneelakandan, General Manager, Finance.
Earlier in the day, Padmanabhan also flagged off the first consignment of seamless steel tubes from the Seamless Steel Tube Plant (SSTP) of BHEL Tiruchy for the financial year 2019-20, in the presence of A Sivakumar, Deputy Director of Boilers, Tiruchy; MV Selvan, General Manager, SSTP; and other senior officials.
A consignment of 80 tonnes was flagged off for High Pressure Boiler Plant. SSTP General Manager Selvan handed over the dispatch documents to K Mohan, GeneralManager, Materials Management and Works Contract Management.
