Cast away caste, vote for welfare: IJK prez
IJK president and Perambalur Lok Sabha candidate Parivendhar asked the voters here on Thursday to cast away the caste and religion tag and vote for the person, who is interested in their welfare. He claimed that the AIADMK candidate NR Sivapathi has been playing the caste card to woo voters.

Asking the people to vote wisely, Parivedhar alleged that Sivapathi had done nothing to the people and has not earned a good name and so fearing defeat, he has started utilising the caste card.
Sivapathi belongs to the dominant Mutharaiyar community and the IJK president said that Sivapathi has been approaching the leaders from the community and the village heads to vote in his favour. It is said, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, who visited Tiruchy and campaigned for Sivapathi had warned him to intensify his campaign. It is likely he started using the caste card to woo voters after the rap, Parivendhar noted.
Parivendhar, who campaigned on Thursday at Nagalapuram in Thuraiyur, said that he has been doing welfare works to the people and educational and medical service for over 40 years. “Please, don’t see the caste and religion, you need to see the humanity in the society which will bring you only good,” he said.
He promised to solve drinking water problem and construct five more hospitals in the constituency. “Our institutions would stand with you always,” he added.
