As they did not return home even after it became dark, their parents initiated a search across the village. Later, their bodies were found floating in the open ground level water tank. Based on a complaint by Kumaresan, Pernambut town police registered a case and initiated an investigation. The bodies of the deceased children were sent to Pernambut government hospital for post-mortem. A pall of gloom has descended on the village following the death of the children.
