According to the police, Sanjeev Kumar, the son of a kabaddi coach from Sundarapuram, used to misbehave with girls, who were training under his father.
According to a complaint filed by the 19-year-old girl, the accused asked her to come with him on a bike while she was practicing in the ground at night.
“When I refused, he twisted my hand and verbally abused me. After I raised an alarm seeking help, he left the spot. He had approached me with a wrong intention even before. After I raised a complaint with the police, his family members visited my house and issued death threats,” she told mediapersons.
Describing further, the girl revealed that Sanjeev once invited her to his house. “He then threatened to kill my sister, who is studying Class one, if I failed cooperate with him. He also called me and spoke in a demeaning way,” she said.
The girl claimed that his Sanjeev’s father refused to act despite informing about his son’s behavior.
“My kabbadi coach threatened me not to make an issue out of it. He told me that my seat in the college would be cancelled,” she claimed. Further inquiry is on.
