AIADMK involved in cash distribution, complains Left
Representatives of Left parties on Wednesday alleged that the ruling AIADMK government was distributing cash to voters.

Addressing newspersons, Arumuga Nainar, CPM state committee member, said, “AIADMK functionaries are involved in distribution of cash in Madurai constituency. Though we had submitted a complaint to the Election Commission of India (ECI) in this regard, no action was taken.”
Claiming that the police and election officials were working in favour of the AIADMK candidate, Nainar said they were preventing the campaign of CPM candidate Su Venkatesan.
“Officials stop our door-to-door campaigning citing lack of permission. However, permission was denied when we requested it. We are not allowed to walk on the road in group after 10 pm, but the AIADMK cadre, who are seen even at midnight, are actively involved in distributing money to voters,” said Nainar.
In his petition to the ECI, CPI state deputy secretary Veerapandian claimed Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami was directly soliciting votes by promising Rs 2,000 to voters during his campaign speeches.
“Palaniswami is openly asking the voters to support the AIADMK. He says that Rs 2,000 will be given per family after the polls. This is nothing but cash for votes,” said Veerapandian.
