Woman delivers child in ambulance
A pregnant woman, who was being rushed to the hospital after developing labour pain, delivered a girl child in a 108 ambulance. The underweight baby was provided care at the paediatric ICU of Vellore Medical College Hospital, on Monday.

Officials said Tamilselvi (21), wife of Munisamy of Sholingur, was admitted to the Primary Health Centre at nearby Ponnai two days ago. After she developed labour pain, she was taken to the Government Vellore Medical College Hospital by an ambulance on Monday afternoon.
When the ambulance neared Bagayam on the outskirts of Vellore, the woman went into labour. The ambulance driver Rajesh and Emergency Medical Technician Prakasam helped her deliver a 1.5 kg girl baby at 1.52 pm.
As the child was underweight, she was admitted to the paediatric ICU at the medical college hospital where her condition is being monitored.
