Nagercoil-Mumbai express timing change sought
Colachel MLA JG Prince on Monday appealed to the railway authorities to change the present departure and arrival timings of Mumbai CST-Nagercoil-Mumbai CST express (16339 and 16351), saying that this would benefit the passengers.

The scheduled departure of the train from Mumbai CST is 12:10 pm and it usually arrives in the southern part of the state around midnight. Owing to this untimely and late night arrival, passengers, especially children, women and senior citizens, face problems finding transport services to reach their destinations from the railway stations, Prince added.
The passengers have no alternative but to wait at the station until the next morning to avail public transportation, he said, adding that this has been causing a lot of inconvenience to the passengers and their safety is at peril.
Hence, the railway authorities were requested to change the departure time of the express train from Mumbai to morning so that it reaches Nagercoil in the evening, the MLA said. He said he has also requested the railway authorities to introduce daily train service from Nagercoil to Mumbai.
Currently, passengers avail services of the long distant weekly, bi-weekly and tri-weekly trains to various destinations. The Mumbai–Nagercoil–Mumbai train (16339/16340) could be converted to a daily superfast train to reduce the travel time, he opined.
