The wife of Sadiq Batcha, a key accused in the 2G scam who was found dead under suspicious circumstances in 2011, on Tuesday demanded action against former Union Minister A Raja for allegedly trying to murder her.

In a petition submitted to the Home Secretary, Reha Banu said, “After the death anniversary advertisement of my husband appeared in papers, my car was attacked. It was planned by the DMK and Raja.”
Sadiq Batcha was a former business associate of Raja. Ever since his death, the Opposition parties have attacked the DMK by blaming its leaders for Batcha’s death.
Recently, in the death anniversary advertisement, it was mentioned that ‘bad relationships’ resulted in the death of Sadiq Batcha. The advertisement kicked off a controversy, leading to Opposition leaders once again renewing their attack on the DMK.
Under this circumstance, Reha Banu said that she had submitted a complaint to the city Police Commissioner about the attack. Police protection has been provided to her. “A murder attempt was made on me by DMK men after the advertisement. I seek immediate action against the attackers as there is a threat to my life,” she said.
