Congress candidates for Tamil Nadu announced: EVKS Elangovan to contest from Theni
The congress candidates' list for the upcoming Lok Sabha Polls were announced on Friday.

Congress, which has formed alliance with DMK and its allies for the election, announced its candidates on 22nd March.
Among the 40 constituencies of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry together, DMK is contesting in 20 constituencies, Congress -10, Other parties- 2 each.
While all other allies had announced their party's candidates, Congress finalised its candidates on 22nd March.
According to the announcement, the following are the official candidates representing Congress in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
1. Kanniyakumari - H Vasantha Kumar
2. Virudhunagar - Manick Thakur
3. Trichy - Thirunavukkarasu
4. Aarani - Vishnu Prasad
5. Thiruvallur - Jayakumar
6. Theni - EVKS Elangovan
7. Karur - Jothimani
8. Krishnagiri - Dr Sellakumar
9. Pondicherry - Vaithiyalingam
Sivagangai constituency was left unannounced since the candidate for the same was yet to be finalised.
Sources said that Sivagangai constituency was requested by Karthi Chidambaram and that the Party High Command has put his request on hold.
Meanwhile, expectations arose, since EVKS Elangovan will be contesting in Theni against ADMK's Ravindranath who happens to be son of Deputy Chief Minister O Pannerselvam. Ex MLA Thanga Tamilselvan is also contesting in Theni on AMMK's behalf.
Since all the major players have substantial influence in the district, the race has toughened.
All the announced Congress candidates are expected to file their nomination by 26th March, sources added.
