After an hour-long inspection, the CB-CID police confirmed that two videos were taken in the house. “Usually the accused would be taken to the scene of crime during the search. As bringing Thirunavukkarasu to the house may trigger law and order issues, he wasn’t brought here,” said an officer, involved in the search.

Even while taking into custody, the police produced him in court through video conference for security reasons. “Thirunavukkarasu and his friends frequented this house in their car. They had used black sun film in the car because of which neighbours were not aware of its occupants,” said the cop. To avoid people from hearing the screams of the women in the car, they used to turn on loud music. The police would continue to guard the house round-the-clock.

30-year-old man arrestedfor hoax bomb threat

The Coimbatore city police on Sunday arrested a 30-year-old man, who made a bomb threat call to the police Commissioner’s office as he was not satisfied with the course of investigation in the Polachi sexual harassment case.

The caller, Martin Mariadas from Annai Velanganni Nagar in Sowripalayam, called up the police control on March 15 around 11.30 pm and threatened the officers. He claimed to have planted bombs at the Commissioner’s office as he was unhappy over the police arresting only four persons and letting off others without any action. When the police asked about his identity, he revealed his name and his location.

The police then tracked him to a bakery in Sowripalayam where he was quarrelling with another man. The police arrested Martin Mariadass and booked him under the IPC Sections 507 for criminal intimidation by anonymous communication and 506(1) for issuing death threats. He was produced in court and lodged at the Coimbatore Central Prison.
