Pollachi Sexual Harassment: Madurai High Court directs TN Governemnt to pass new GO
The Madurai Court has ordered the removal of the names of the victims of the Pollachi rape case and release the new government order

Owing to the raising demand from public, the Pollachi sexual abuse case was transferred to CBI from the CB-CID.
The Government order of the transfer was issued on Wednesday and it had names of the victims identified so far.
Meanwhile one Ilamukil of Trichy, filed a petition in Madurai High Court. In the petition he has stated, "The ongoing sexual abuse case has created a stir. The videos that were circulated in social media have brought trauma to the victims and the recent GO passed by Tamil Nadu government had names of the victims which further added their to their agony. The future of the victims will become questionable".Â
The petitioner hence pleaded the High Court to direct the government to remove the victims' names from the GO and their videos from the social media.
Justice Kirubakaran and Sundar who headed the bench admitted the plea petition on 15/3/2019.
The bench questioned the safety of women and also added that the circulating videos of the issue may affect the mental health of public as suggested by psychiatrists.
The High Court bench ordered that all the videos and photos of this case be removed from the social media immediately. It also reiterated the importance of teaching pros and cons of internet usage to children in school.
Further adding the Bench also directed the Tamil Nadu Government to pass a new GO removing the names of the victims of the incident and it has postponed the case for two weeks.
