The three seats, in fact, were proved to be the dragging point during the negotiations with the national party giving up Arakkonam constituency for Karur seat, sources added. DMK was learnt to have allotted Madurai and Coimbatore to CPM, while the other Left party, CPI, has managed to secure Tiruppur and Nagapattinam constituencies.
While Thol Thirumavalavan’s Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi is likely to be awarded Chidambaram and Villupuram seats, the MDMK, which was allotted one seat, might be given Erode constituency. IJK leader Ravi Patchaimuthu and KNMDK leader Eswaran are expected to contest on DMK’s Rising Sun symbol in Perambalur and Namakkal parliamentary constituencies respectively. IUML, a long-time ally of the DMK, could get Ramanathapuram constituency. DMK sources said the allies have been asked to turn up at Anna Arivalayam around 11 am on Friday to officially announce the seats allotted for each party in the alliance.
