Pollachi FB racket: Bail plea of Thirunavukkarasu rejected

The bail petition was filed by Latha, Thirunavukkarasu’s mother, who said that her son was innocent and needed further treatment for his head injury, which was sustained earlier.

Hearing the plea on Tuesday, Magistrate Arumugam denied bail to the main accused by stating that the forensic report of the video clips recovered from his mobile was yet to be submitted.

Opposing the bail, the government pleader argued that Thirunavukkarasu (27 )was on the run when he was arrested, adding that there was high risk of him escaping again.

Thirunavukkarasu, the key accused, has been lodged in the Coimbatore Central Prison.

Meanwhile, the Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) held a rally to the Sub Collector’s office in Pollachi.

Led by the party’s women and children welfare wing coordinator, Sripriya, the rally saw the participation of more than 300 social activists. They met the Sub Collector and handed over a petition demanding severe action against the culprits.

Party leader Kamal Haasan met the DGP in Chennai and submitted a petition demanding stern action against the culprits involved in the heinous crimes.
