1 tonne red sanders seized from Katpadi farmhouse
Forest officials recovered ten red sanders logs weighing one tonne from a farmhouse near Katpadi on Friday evening. Sources revealed that Balaji of Sevoor near Katpadi had leased his land to Venda who has been raising cattle fodder on the farm.

On Friday morning, a stack of ten cut red sanders logs were found by Venda who in turn informed Balaji regarding the same. Balaji later conveyed the information to local VAO Arun Kumar. After Arun Kumar and revenue inspector Sumathi inspected, three forest officials measured the logs and sent them to government godown. According to sources, officials are investigating about the involvement of residents living in the nearby flats as there was no reason for the logs to be dumped at the farm. A case has been booked and investigations are on.
