The primary objective of developing the mobile system is to promote equal opportunity and sustain high levels of participation in daily fitness and recreational sports activities. The new system will be capable of sending automated SMS information to players, Aadhaar verification, draws, fixtures and match schedules. A senior official from SDAT told DT Next that realising the existing scenario of sports in Tamil Nadu, such a system was the need of hour to formulate and digitise sports at all levels.

Stating that analytics would drastically improve the performance at the international competitions, he said “it is a mission to provide right and useful tools to help sports at all levels from schools to national federations”.

“The latest tools will not only aid the organisations, but also help in profiling players in a scientific way,” he said adding “an added advantage of this digitisation is that it will give an opportunity to perform various sports data analytics”.

The official pointed out that the problems, which arise from the use of current methods that includes existing fragmented affiliated association, lack of monitoring of those institutions, non-availability of dedicated player portal, lack of awareness among players about the competitions or tournaments and lots of complaints in selection process and transparency, could be sorted. The new sports operating system will facilitate online one-time registration process for players, which will be valid for three years, tournament management, that will publish tournament schedules and results and player’s management system, which will give update performance statistics.

In addition, live scores and tournament television will be available in the new system, where referees can access to live scoring application that is integrated closely with tournament operating system. All match results will be updated in real Time and the results can be shared across the globe as it happens using the tournament TV application.

An artificial intelligence driven online training will be implemented to train referees and for organisations get familiar with the latest technology.
