Stalin goes all out against Narendra Modi
If Jaya were to live today, she would not have aligned with the BJP, said DMK leader at a mega rally in Virudhunagar.

DMK leader M K Stalin onWednesday said a Congress-DMK alliance at the Centre had always proved successful ‘whenever the country faced a threat’.
“Whenever the country faced a threat, the Congress and the DMK alliance has been formed and was also successful”, he said, but did not elaborate. He was reacting to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s opportunism barb at a NDA rally earlier in the day near Chennai.
Modi had said that if there was one party that has abused Article 356 again and again, it was the Congress. Even the DMK had become a victim, he said and hit out at the Dravidian party for joining forces with Congress, saying “opportunism has prevailed over values.”
Stalin, addressing a DMK meet here, expressed confidence that AICC president Rahul Gandhi would head the next government at the Centre. He also felt that the BJP alliance in Tamil Nadu was opportunistic and was formed due to ‘coercion’.
Stalin said if former Chief Minister and AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa was alive, the AIADMK would not have aligned with the BJP since she refused to align with the saffron party.
The people of Tamil Nadu would never forget this, he said. Taking a dig at Modi, he said if the PM was truly concerned about 130 crore people, whom he termed as his ‘family’ during his address at Kanniyakumari, he should not have left people on the streets when demonetisation policy was implemented.
“It was a complete lie by Modi that all 130 crore people in India were his family. Moreover, the GST roll out led to closure of several small and medium scale industrial units and much to agony, the minorities were insecure.
Modi made several promises including track doubling of Madurai-Kanniyakumari, but nothing happened as of now.
It was unfortunate that priority to employment in central government sectors including railways, NLC, Income Tax and Customs was given to people of North.”
Stalin said the BJP led NDA government remained a stumbling block to Sethu Samudram shipping canal project, which was mooted by the DMK during its alliance with the Congress led UPA government.
Despite adopting a key resolution in Tamil Nadu assembly to ensure release of seven life convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, there’s no progress in it, Stalin added.
Coming down heavily on PMK founder S Ramadoss, Stalin said he is now a PRO (Public Relations Officer) to the Chief Minister. M
In her speech, K Kanimozhi, Rajya Sabha MP of DMK, said the State government was not concerned about the worsening condition of workers relying on cracker manufacturing industries, which remain closed for several months together.
