ECI to seek info on financial assistance

The DMK, in its petition to the Election Commission of India (ECI) and to the Chief Electoral Officer Tamil Nadu had lodged a complaint stating that the ruling AIADMK had launched the scheme to induce voters. As this is a state scheme the details would be sought from the government and the same will sent to the ECI for further action.

Based on the ECI guidelines necessary action would be taken. As of now thestate district election officers have been directed to focus on the preparation of the final voters roll along with supplementary revision.

The scrutiny of submitted forms is undergoing and next course of poll works would commence when the poll schedule is announced, CEO said. The CEO also warned action against those who spread rumours against electronic voting machines.
