Anbumani along with his party functionaries called on Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami at his office in the Secretariat and submitted a petition with host of demands associated with Dharmapuri district which he is representing in the Lok Sabha.
After meeting Palaniswami, Anbumani while addressing reporters, said, “When Modi visits Chennai on Wednesday, he will meet him in person and will demand him to take immediate action towards the release of seven Rajiv murder convicts.”
Anbumani’s meeting with Palaniswami was the first official meeting after the alliance was sealed between the two parties. Anbumani said that the meeting was to raise the long pending issues of Dharmapuri district.
The PMK leader said, “We have obtained signatures from more than 10 lakh people in Dharmapuri district to implement the scheme of providing excess Cauvery water to Dharmapuri district by pumping it with the help of motors and transporting it through pipes to the water bodies.”
The other long pending project for Dharmapuri is SIPCOT. “Nearly, 1,200 acres of land have been obtained and officials too have given permission. I have demanded Chief Minister to implement both the schemes and he informed me that he will take immediate action,” said Anbumani.
When asked whether PMK is maintaining cordial relationship with other alliance partners, including the BJP, Anbumani replied that they are in cordial relationship with the BJP as he met Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal at a government function in Dharmapuri on Monday.
“The Morappur-Dharmapuri Railway line project was pending for 78 years, but I met Railway Minister and officials for 19 times to bring the project to Dharmapuri. I have a close relationship with the Ministers and BJP functionaries,” he said.
