Driver found dead in abandoned well

Karthikeyan, a resident of Pillur village near Kalasapakkam, went missing on February 28. Subsequently, when his wife Rajeswari and relatives started searching for him, Kalasapakkam police were informed about a dead body inside an abandoned farm well at Pudupet near Thurinjapuram.

Upon receiving information, police and fire service personnel went to the spot and retrieved the body, which after an investigation was found to be that of Karthikeyan. Police registered a case and started their investigations after Rajeswari complained to them that she suspected a foul play in the death of her husband.

During inquiry, police found that Karthikeyan along with some of his friends had come to the well, where they then consumed liquor. It is suspected that Karthikeyan might have accidentally slipped into the well and drowned under the influence of liquor. Police are questioning Rajakannu, the owner of the farm well, while searching for Karthikeyan’s friends.
