Addressing a meeting of representatives from registered political parties, the Collector said that polling booths with more than 1,400 voters were bifurcated and this resulted in the creation of two new polling booths in the district.
Stating that the district administration was ready to conduct the elections, he said that polling booths located in the old buildings of government schools were shifted to the newly-constructed buildings.
Names of the voters registered in polling booths in the old buildings had also been shifted to polling booths in the new buildings, he added. Representatives from the AIADMK, DMK, Congress, AMMK and other parties attended the meeting.
