Door open to friendly parties, says Jayakumar
Both the AIADMK and DMK are finding it difficult to conclude their alliances as constituencies and number of seats continue to be a bone of contention.

Asserting that the doors of alliance were always open to friendly political parties, the AIADMK on Monday said it would wait for some more time for the DMDK, led by Vijayakant, to join the NDA.
Senior AIADMK leader and fisheries minister D Jayakumar who met reporters here on Monday said, “The doors of alliance were always open for the parties willing to be with AIADMK.Talks with DMDK is continuing and we will welcome if theyjoin us. We will also not be worried if they fail to join us.”
Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami also confirmed that the alliance talks were progressing with the DMDK and distanced himself from the comment of minister D Jayakumar.
“The views of Jayakumar on DMDK are personal and I do not want to comment,” quipped the chief minister to a query from reporter.
“We have been holding talks with DMDK in a diplomatic manner, but the actor’s family is behaving too pricey. The actor’s son Vijaya Prabhakaran language is also rude. Minister Jayakumar’s comment that AIADMK is not worried about DMDK is a satire in response to the DMDK,” said an AIADMK MLA wishing not to be quoted.
“Some of the AIADMK seniors are also upset with voice of Vijaya Prabhakaran and this had also been conveyed to the AIADMK top brass. For this alliance the party should also sacrifice our sitting seats but if this drags further, the AIADMK may soon have to close the alliance gates,” the MLA quipped.
