“The event is aimed to create a bonhomie between the ruling AIADMK and the PMK will also help the party to identify the seven seats to be contested by the PMK and the dinner is hosted as a warm gesture towards Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, who had agreed to the demands of our leader,” an informed PMK leader said.

Chief Minister Palaniswami and his deputy Panneerselvam, state Ministers P Thangamani and CVe Shanmugham participated in the dinner which was originally meant for discussing allocation of seats. However, PMK sources clarified that the list of PMK constituencies was to be released in a couple of days. Police from Kancheepuram and Villupuram district were deployed in large numbers to facilitate traffic movement. A wide range of farm grown fruits along with non-vegetarian and vegetarian dishes were served to the AIADMK top brass.

With the AIADMK agreeing to part seven constituencies to its most prominent alliance partner, speculation is rife on whether the PMK would get a majority of its seats in the northern districts where the party’s vote share is significant or if they would be forced to contest in some southern and western districts too. In the previous LS polls, the party contested in 8 seats and won from Dharmapuri.

    Our position strong: PMK Treasurer
PMK Treasure Thilagabama claimed that the party is committed to bring development to the people of Tamil Nadu and felt the importance of the participation in the new government and so aligned with the AIADMK and the BJP.
Speaking to the reporters, Thilagabama, who came to review the activities of women wing of the PMK in Karur said, several political parties are upset over the alliance made by the PMK and the BJP-AIADMK. The party founder Dr S Ramadoss has put forth 10 major demands before both the AIADMK and the BJP. “Since our participation in the Parliament was felt to be important, we made alliance even with parties with different policies and we have a strong hold in the alliance and the front will certainly win in all the 40 segments,” she said.
She also said that the participation of the PMK will bring several developmental works to the state. “For the welfare of the people of Tamil Nadu, the party had made the alliance and got adequate number of seats,” she added.
