With the AIADMK winning the first round of negotiations on Tuesday by clinching the deal with the BJP and the PMK, the EPS-OPS combine have yet again surprised critics by deciding to give away at least 19 seats to alliance partners.

Commenting on the development, political analyst Ravindran Duraisamy said, “Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and PMK founder S Ramadoss have emerged as tough negotiators in this deal. Both the AIADMK and the BJP will benefit in the poll pact.” He added that the PMK will transfer its votes for the AIADMK and for the PMK it depends upon the chemistry. “Like 2009, this poll pact will benefit the AIADMK,” he said.
Post the demise of J Jayalalithaa there were shades of darkness but now the government and the party led by EPS and OPS has started showing future to the cadre.
“The opposition, particularly the DMK, campaigned that the AIADMK is submissive to the BJP, but our party leadership has successfully clinched the deal just by offering five seats,” said former MLA Ku Srinivasan, who is also member party poll works committee. The lessons imparted by Amma (Jayalalithaa) has helped our leaders to clinch the poll alliances in a grand way, he added.
