‘Mystery over Jaya’s death to be resolved if voted to power’
DMK president M K Stalin on Friday asserted that if his party was voted to power, he would solve the mystery over former CM J Jayalalithaa’s death and send those responsible for it to prison.
According to Stalin, all the information that was given to the public during the late AIADMK leader’s period of hospitalisation was wrong.
“Nothing was given out expect that she (Jayalalithaa) took juice and consumed idly for Rs 2 crore,” he alleged.
Claiming that proper medical bulletins were issued during former DMK chief M Karunanidhi’s treatment, Stalin said: “Medical bulletins and photos were issued regularly even when the late CMs Annadurai and M G Ramachandran were admitted in hospitals.”
The DMK leader said all those responsible for the “mystery” death of Jayalalithaa will be punished and sent to jail once his party comes to power. “We need to take this action to satisfy the AIADMK functionaries, irrespective of whether or not it is liked by the DMK cadre,” he said.
He also alleged that mercenaries were engaged from Kerala to take documents and pen drives kept at Kodanad Estate soon after Jayalalithaa’s death. “It is not my own statement. The statement came from the culprits themselves,” he added.
Claiming that the present AIADMK government is at acting at the behest of the Central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Stalin said the saffron party is forcing the AIADMK to ally with it. “Information about the alliance will come out very soon,” he added.
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) president K S Alagiri claimed that the State government’s announcement of distributing Rs 2,000 to BPL families was made with an eye on the upcoming Parliamentary polls.
“Furthermore, the poll announcement will be made in March. How will the State government prepare the list of beneficiaries and distribute the money in such a short time?”
The Congress leader also alleged that around 30 lakh beneficiaries, who will be receiving the financial assistance, are AIADMK cadre.
