While thanking the government for the memorial, Abubacker said that he shares a close bond with Sivanthi Aditanar. “My native is Kayalpattinam and native of Sivanthi Aditanar is Kayamozhi and both are located near Tiruchendur. The family of Aditanar is known for communal harmony,” said Abubacker.
Need integrated check post at Puliyarai:
Abubacker also demanded the state government to set up an integrated check post at Puliyarai, in Tirunelveli district, to check the human and animal wastes, from
Kerala, getting dumped in Tamil Nadu.
“An integrated check post should be set up jointly by Revenue, Police and Transport department to prevent vehicles from Kerala with human and animal wastes. The incidences of dumping wastes have increased in the recent days and this is like inviting health hazards,” added Abubacker.
He further said that recently, Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) had rolled out the notification for group-I services and according to the notification the upper age limit for the applicants have been revised so that persons at the age of 37 cannot apply. Even after increasing the age limit from 35 to 37, by the state the applicants cannot enjoy the benefits and so the notification should be altered, demanded Abubacker.
State Minister for Fisheries, Personal and Administrative Reforms D Jayakumar replied that like Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), TNPSC had fixed the upper age limit based on forward method and retrospective method had been abandoned. The demand of Abubacker to revise the notification cannot be considered, he said.
