“Kamal, who cannot even tolerate the problems faced ahead of the release of movie Vishwaroopam in the state, spoke of leaving India out of frustration, he has no eligibility to criticise the Dravidian Movement,” he told reporters in Kovilpatti on Saturday.

The actor was bogged down by problems to release the movie, but former chief minister J Jayalalithaa came to his rescue and ensured the release, the Minister recalled.

He further said that Kamal has no idea of the history and tradition of Dravidian Movement. “There’s no doubt the AIADMK ruled for thirty years during the fifty year tradition of the Dravidian Movement and it was recorded in the history. Hence, persons like Kamal need not doubt the tradition of these political events,” he said.

Further, the Minister said online piracy of movies could be prevented if there was cooperation between cinema producers, theatre owners and actors. Such illegal acts of video VCD piracy could happen in few theatres. Even when the rules enforced by the government are harsh, to control such piracy cooperation between stakeholders of the cinema industry is a must. Meanwhile, he welcomed AMMK leader TTV Dhinakaran’s statement hailing the budget, in which the government has set aside huge funds of Rs 10,000 crore towards farm loan. Besides, adequate funds were also announced for various departments including health. On the recently concluded Global Investors Meet (GIM), he said it has created job opportunities for 10 lakh youths.
