Transport department gets Rs 1,287 crore in TN budget 2019
The state Finance Minister O Panneerselvam announced on Friday that 2,000 electric buses will be operated in Chennai, Madurai and Coimbatore.

The Transport department of Tamil Nadu will be allocated with Rs 1,287 for its improvement and management. The state Finance Minister O Panneerselvam announced on Friday that 2,000 battery run buses will be operated in Chennai, Madurai and Coimbatore.
Tamil Nadu's budget is being presented on Friday by Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, who holds the Finance portfolio.
The budget for 2019-20 was started in the House at 10:00 am.
The state Finance Minister started the session with Thirukural and praised the late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa for her policy based decisions. He highlighted the achievements and milestones happened in Tamil Nadu during the AIADMK governance.
