Tamil Nadu's budget is being presented on Friday by Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, who holds the Finance portfolio.
The budget for 2019-20 was started in the House at 10:00 am.
The state Finance Minister started the session with Thirukural and praised the late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa for her policy based decisions. He highlighted the achievements and milestones happened in Tamil Nadu during the AIADMK governance.
During the presentation, the Finance Minister announced Tamil Nadu government's allocation of Rs 6,000 crores for food subsidy program.
