Minister goofs up again: For him PM is Vajpayee now
State Forest Minister Dindigul Sreenivasan has once again goofed up in mentioning the name of the incumbent Prime Minister.
Chennai
After Manmohan Singh and Narasimha Rao, now it is the turn of Atal Bihari Vajpayee to be misrepresented as current prime minister by him in a speech.
Delivering his address at a party meeting in Natham, Dindigul Sreenivasan said, “The Union Budget presented by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had many good announcements for farmers such as Rs 6,000 per annum for farmers having land less than two acres.”
The speech created a buzz in the meeting as the party cadre laughed at the Minister for saying Vajpayee as the Prime Minister instead of Narendra Modi. Even after seeing the party men laugh, the Minister did not realise his mistake and continued his speech without correcting it.
This is not the first time that Sreenivasan had got the name of Prime Minister wrong. In October 2017, he said that Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam went to New Delhi to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Later, in August 2019, Dindigul Sreenivasan again said that Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker Thambidurai would meet Prime Minister Narasimha Rao in New Delhi. This is the third time that he had wrongly quoted the names of former prime ministers instead of the current Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his speeches.
