Makkal Needhi Maiam starts leg work in Pondy
In a bid to strengthen the party and enroll members, Makkal Needhi Maiam office-bearers would visit all the constituencies in Puducherry commencing from Bahour constituency on February 4, party organisation president, Dr MA S Subramanian said here on Friday.

Talking to reporters here, Subramanian, who joined the party recently and obtained the post said that it is proposed to enroll one lakh new members within three months.
He said the elected Congress government here is now reaping what they harvested earlier and facing financial crisis. The main opposition NR Congress which is supposed to question this situation is adopting a lack luster stance.
Feeling the need to start Makkal Needhi Maiam here, he joined the party, Subramnian said adding that since, he was not involved in any irregularities or controversy here, Kamal Hassan made him party organisational president.
People are fed up with the Congress government as no schemes could be implemented here and NR Congress is also not active, there is a need to find an alternative and as such a third front under Kamal Hassan, he said.
He also said that he would strive hard to ensure the formation of a Makkal Needhi Maiam government here.
